This 1999 edition of R5-D4 shows the red astromech droid with the characteristic dome head and short red stripes. The printed decoration on the white lower body is subtle and detailed. In direct comparison to sw0029a from 2007, this version differs in the length and proportions of the red stripes on the dome, giving it a visually more compact and distinct appearance.

About R5-D4

R5-D4 is an astromech droid from the Star Wars universe. As a red droid with white markings, he belongs to the same model line as the famous R2-D2. R5-D4 is portrayed in the original story as a defective droid whose motivator fails shortly after being purchased. This malfunction leads Luke Skywalker to acquire R2-D2 instead, fundamentally altering the course of events.
