Less waiting, more collecting

The latest version of Plasticfolk should bring a massive performance improvement. The app should open faster, page changes should feel smoother, and browsing through lots of figures should feel much lighter. The difference should be especially noticeable with larger collections.

Over the past three days, I have tidied up many of the things that were slowing you down. Whether you want to look something up, add new figures, or browse your collection, you should get where you want to go more quickly. Give it a try and let me know how it feels on your devices!

What else is new:

  • Reworked figure details: Larger images and a clearer layout, especially on phones. Ownership, wishes, and lists stay within easy reach.
  • Public figure pages: Figures with descriptions can now be viewed and shared without signing in, complete with images, background information, sets, and related figures.
  • Better support for custom figures: Your own creations appear under My figures even without a purchase entry, and you can find them by name or your own number.
  • Easier image uploads: For custom figures, you can upload photos or paste them straight from the clipboard.
  • A clearer scanner: Multiple results sit neatly beside each other, while individual results get more space.
  • Search without dead ends: If you cannot find something among your figures, you can use the same search term directly in the catalogue.
  • Clearer price history: Follow past BrickLink prices for new and used figures separately and inspect individual values.
  • Return to the same place: Your scroll position is preserved when you return to long lists.
  • Linked descriptions: Figure numbers in the text are linked so you can jump straight to the figure mentioned.

You can find all the changes in detail in the changelog.
